KELLARI TRIO (Cellar Trio) was born in Teppo Hauta-aho's cellar. Long time musical partners Teppo & Mike (Heikki) invited Mikko to a recording session - in the cellar - and the music clicked immediately. Besides a few written melodies, the tunes were created spontaneously with just a few outlines and intrument choices. This recording captures the freshness born out of discovering new musical avenues and responding to ideas through intense LISTENING. A couple of Heikki's tunes utilize overdubs - recorded immediately, like three "soundpainters" adding new brush strokes to a shared colorful canvas.

"Feels like a darkness on a lot of tracks but a burnished one, like a deep rich wood. Variety on display, and brevity too. The 17 tracks are short but never rushed, nor incomplete. All three squeeze in percussion at points. Really excellent from start to Finnish. Kellari=Cellar as in the bassist/cellist’s.
