Peter J. Martin is the composer, musical-director, head-cheerleader for Eddie the Rat. He is a simultaneous multi-instrumentalist - playing piano and Balinese gangsa with his hands and a drum with either foot.
Martin cut his teeth playing cover tunes in topless bars on Broad St. in Philadelphia in the 80's; got dizzy spinning in jazz, classical, and electronic circles in the 90's; wrote thespian-abusing music for theater and independent film around 2K; and has studied gamelan in Java and Bali until the sweat in his eyes and the knot in his brain made him say "uncle" in Indonesian, and has a MFA from Mills College.

He has played in too many musical groups to mention, but here is half a smattering:

He gives a wink and a blink to tearing up his Walter Piston book, gamelan and gypsy music, and putting vivarin directly into his coffee.
