Life, After Avant Garde from Columbus Ohio based L.A. Jenkins combines urban ambient and the avant-garde creating a powerful musical fusion. The project embodies the ideal of artistic freedom being unhindered by cultural assumptions and limiting expectations as it relates to the categories and genre, of jazz. Jenkin’s vision is to transport the listener through a cacophony of extended sounds, while still holding to noted reference of song form and composition structure leading the listener with him on a musical sojourn.
